High-risk pregnancy


Abstract
As the obstetrics deals with both maternal and fetal well-being, the high-risk pregnancy is a great problem t) be solved. There ha, been recognition that a variety of obstetrical, medical and social factors differentially prognosticate and contribute to risk for pregnant women and their offspring. There ha; been further recognition that appropriate identification, evaluation and intensive treatment can serve to reduce existent risk for many individuals.
The author discussed about diabetes, hypertension, hemolytic disease, repeated pregnancy loss, infection, anemia, drags, nutrition, irradiation and social factors, all of which a-e carrying high risks during pregnancy. At the end, laboratory tests for identification of high-risk pregnancy were discussed.
